A beautiful day-trip from Gothenburg (Göteborg). It takes about 15 min to get to Jonsered – Bokedalens nature reserve.
There are several nice hikes to do around the area. My favorite is the one following a part of the long distance swedish trail “Bohusleden”.
It takes about 2 hours (slow pace) to get complete this trail. Starting from the parking place you will first pass a farm then walk along the lake. When the pass stops, look up for an orange dot (it is the trail mark), it will lead you into the magnificent beech forest to reach after an 1 hour a cute swedish coffee place (usually open during spring and summer). It is also there that long-distance hikers can find one of the “Bohusleden” shelter to spend the night. Continue onto the path to return to the parking.
To get there
- By car : drive to “Jonsered herrgård” before arriving you should pass a parking place with a big sign showing the possible hikes to do in the area.
- By train : take the train in Göteborg at “Centralstationen” to Jonsered. Walk along “William Gibsons väg” 200m to reach the parking place and information sign. Check timetable at http://www.vasttrafik.se/
